Game description: A bitter war between two world superpowers has raged on for decades with armies of beasts and demons devastating the people and the land. With both sides deadlocked, two young heroes rise up to begin a heroic journey to stop the fighting and unite the divided world. As either Toma, a talented sword fighter boy, or Cyrille, a cunning female sorceress, you'll venture into a stunning world of swords and sorcery teeming with a huge variety of tribes. With aggressive offensive and defensive strategies, you'll lead your battle party into combat while protecting your home base, the Geo Fortress, from massive attacks.
Vanquish definition. The game tells the story of a world divided by a war between humans and demons. Like Shining Force Neo, the gameplay is in the vein of the popular game Diablo or Record of Lodoss War for the Dreamcast (the latter also by Neverland). The game features a variety of weaponry inspired by the medieval era, magic, and a collection of skills that can be improved upon for the main characters.
Test configurations on Windows:
Shining Force EXA featuring voice actors based in Vancouver and Los Angeles. If 'Shining Force EXA', an action role-playing game developed by Neverland and published by Sega for the PlayStation 2 as a part of the 'Shining' series, gets its remake, Karl Willems and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn would direct its voice acting. Shining Force Exa uses a similar system from its predecessor, Shining Force Neo, and keeps the tradition of numerous races and character classes.

| Game plays great as long as you play in native resolution. Using anything above native causes glitches in the UI, ghosting, and a kind of blurry, bloomy, effect. Some areas cause FPS drops while others like certain cities don't. Enabling EE or VU hacks won't help as EE does nothing and VU only slows the game down more. | CrazySteve88 |

Known Issues
Memory card corruption
- Status:Active
- Type: Major
- Description: After playing the game for a while, when attempting to save the game, it corrupts the save file on the memory card. When it does get corrupted, the save cannot be deleted by any means, this includes the internal memory card manager, or 3rd party applications such as myMC. It might have something to do with the auto-eject memory card function that PCSX2 randomly seems to do in this game. (Normally it's only supposed to do it when loading Save States).
- Workaround: Go to Config > Memory Cards > Uncheck 'Auto-eject memory cards when loading savestates'. This seems to prevent it from happening.
- Note: As a precaution - when playing this game, keep a backup of your Memory Card file handy just in case it does go wrong.
Frame Rate drops while Sealed Monster animation & viewing full map (R2 button)
- Type: Note (not an issue)
- Description: While using GSDx Hardware in high Internal Resolution there's a issue of frame rate dropping when viewing the Sealed Monster animation (When you break the Sealing Stone) & viewing full map (R2 button) .
- Workaround: Decrease the Internal Resolution until it's unnoticeable .
- Note: 8x Internal resolution will drop the frame rate ~80% while 6x Internal Resolution drops it by ~30%.
